Owner: Tenants intentionally set mobile home fire

A fire burned a rented mobile home in Happy Valley. The owner thinks the blaze was set intentionally.
The fire was reported around 8:50 p.m. Saturday in the 17000 block of Andrea Way. Firefighters were able to contain it and were still mopping up more than four hours later.
The single-wide trailer was a total loss.
Gene Viano owns the trailer and lives next door. He said he rents the mobile home to a couple who had left the area about an hour before the fire started.
“They spent most of the day [Saturday] loading their truck up and stuff. I don't know. As soon as they left, about an hour later, my place gets torched. So I know they had to have done it," Viano said.
He said he was able to keep the fire from spreading onto his side of the shared property.
“I kept my side pretty wet. It got pretty warm when that went up,” Viano said. “It didn't take long, but it burned."
Viano said he was in the process of evicting the current tenants.
The Happy Valley Fire Department said they have not made a determination and are still investigating the fire's cause, as well as any motive.
