CHICO, Calif. -

Chico Police tracked down an armed robbery suspect, who's accused of holding up two liquor stores in two days.

Police arrested Luke Geyer, 28 of Chico, Wednesday afternoon.

East Avenue Liquor was robbed Monday.  Fair Street Market was robbed Tuesday.  In both cases, the same suspect appeared in surveillance video, a white male, wearing a yellow backpack who rode off on a yellow bicycle

At 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, a citizen spotted a man matching the suspect description and riding a yellow bicycle near the 7/11 on East Avenue near Ceres.

The citizen watched the subject ride off on a bicycle to the parking lot near the Likker Locker at East Avenue and Cohasset. The citizen alerted police who then contacted the man after he rode his bicycle north on Cohasset. He was stopped on the 2800 block of Cohasset and detained at gunpoint.

KRCR News Channel 7 was there as Geyer was put in the back of a police car.

Police detained him until an employee from Fair Street Market arrived to identify the suspect.   Chico Police Sgt. Rob Merrified said once that identification was made,  Geyer was taken into custody.

“The clothing and the backpack he was wearing appears to be the same as that which we saw in the video surveillance at the liquor store yesterday,” said Merrifield.

Geyer was booked into Butte County Jail and is held on $200,000 bail.  He faces two counts of armed robbery.
