REDDING, Calif. -

A Northstate police chief added some excitement to a law enforcement awards luncheon.  Paradise Police Chief Gabriela Tazzari-Dineen went into labor as she arrived for the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Awards Luncheon at the Red Lion Hotel in Redding Tuesday.

Tazzari-Dineen was 36 weeks along with twins.  Her water broke as she arrived in the lobby and she was rushed to Mercy Medical Center around 11 a.m.  The babies, a boy named Taz and a girl named Bella were delivered around 3 p.m.

The luncheon continued, recognizing officers from across the Northstate from Siskiyou to Butte County.

The top DUI arresting officer was Jacob Provencio of Redding Police Department with 175 arrests during the last year.
