Probation search turns up wanted suspect hiding in bedroom

CITY OF SHASTA LAKE, Calif. -

A Shasta County man was arrested on a series of charges after sheriff's deputies said they found him hiding in a home where they found methamphetamine.

The arrest was made Wednesday night after deputies went to conduct a probation search a home in the 5100 block of Front Street in the City of Shasta Lake.

Deputies said they found 45-year-old John Evans hiding in the bedroom of the home.  Evans was wanted for nine outstanding warrants.

A search of the bedroom revealed more than 41 grams of crystal methamphetamine and a digital scale.

The warrants include drug offenses and warrants for failing to appear in court.
