Red Bluff man leads Chico police on pursuit, gets away
A Red Bluff man led Chico police on a high-speed chase Saturday night, reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour before he got the car stuck in a field and ran away.
Saturday night around 10:15 p.m. Chico Police tried to stop a 2001 Chevy Camaro at West 8th Avenue and Highway 32, but the driver failed to yield and sped away.
With police in tow, the driver, 54-year-old Kevin Warnock of Red Bluff, reached speeds of 100 miles per hour along Highway 32, Meridian Road and West Sacramento Avenue.
When he reached the intersection of River Road, Warnock tried to take the Camaro into a muddy field where it became stuck.
Chico police officers along with a K-9 unit, Butte County Sheriff's deputies and helicopter, and CHP officers all searched unsuccessfully to find Warnock.
Kevin Warnock is described as 6 feet 5 inches tall, 200 pounds with shaved blonde hair, wearing a grey colored cut off tank top.
He's wanted for felony evading and a parole violation.
