Red Bluff mother pleads not guilty in the death of 1-year-old son
The Tehama County mom charged in connection with the death of her 1-year-old son made a court appearance Monday morning.
Thirteen-month-old David Di Dio died in September under suspicious circumstances. His mother, Isabelle Rios, and her fiance, Daniel Llamas, were arrested last month.
Rios, who is now out of custody, entered a not guilty plea.
Her attorney asked the judge to push everything back so her court dates could catch up with Llamas'. He will be in court on Tuesday morning.
Both Rios and Llamas are charged with child abuse resulting in death.
David Di Dio was taken to a hospital in Red Bluff in September because he wasn't breathing and later died of internal injuries. After that, an investigation was launched, which led to the arrests of his mother and her fiance.
Rios is scheduled back in court on July 8.
