Red Bluff Police asking for help solving cold case from six years ago
Red Bluff Police said on Oct. 28, 2006, 36-year-old Eugene Morgan was found in a wooded area north of Lake Ave. near the Sacramento River in Red Bluff.
Morgan was found with severe injuries to his head and face.
Morgan was initially in a coma but later died as a result of those injuries.
Investigators said in their initial investigation they followed up on several leads and interviewed multiple people about the incident. From those leads, officers were able to identify two main suspects and also determined other people were present or close to the attack.
However, despite the leads, investigators said they did not have enough evidence to file criminal charges against the suspects.
The Red Bluff Police Department said they believe there could be witnesses to help them with their investigation.
Anyone with any information may contact Detective Brett McAllister of the Red Bluff Police Department at 527-3131 or Tehama County Secret Witness at 529-1268.
