REDDING, Calif. -

A Redding woman was arrested early Sunday morning for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and child endangerment after a collision just after midnight.

It happened Sunday at 12:35 A.M., at Bechelli Lane and Parsons Drive in Redding.

Police said Jessica R. Mason, 25 years, of Redding, was driving a 2000 Honda Accord southbound on Bechelli Lane.

She turned left onto Parsons Drive in front of a 1998 Mazda Protégé traveling northbound on Bechelli Lane. The Mazda was driven by Jessica A. Beck, 19 years, of Redding. The Mazda was unable to stop in time and the two vehicles collided.

The passengers in the Mazda, Laela A. Cooper, 19 years, of Redding, a 17 year old female of Redding, and the driver were all wearing seatbelts. The front airbags of the Mazda deployed and none of the occupants were injured.

The driver of the Accord, Jessica Mason, had her children, ages 7 and 8, in the car with her. They were also properly restrained in seatbelts. The airbags in the Accord deployed during the collision and none of the occupants were injured.

Further investigation indicated Mason was driving under the influence of drugs at the time of the collision. She was booked into the Shasta County Jail for driving under the influence of drugs, driving while addicted to drugs, driving with a suspended license and felony child endangerment. The children were released to a family member.
