The Opportunity Center held their 50th anniversary celebration Thursday morning.
Many gathered to not only celebrate but to also walk through the center and see what it has to offer.
For the last 50 years the center has helped many with disabilities by providing them with job training and job placement.
Wayne Wheeler has been a part of the center since 2009. Wheeler said the center not only gave him a job but new friends.
"What I like about it is that we get to work with wonderful people, staff members, clients, awesome people, it’s great, it's a great learning experience," said Wheeler.
"They love to earn their pay checks like everybody else and be productive members of our community and they give back to the economy,” said Jane Work, Manager at the center. “We pay over a million dollars in wages to our clients."
