Redding transient arrested after threatening locals
A Redding transient was arrested after people reported him threatening them and acting suspiciously. According to police, he was also hiding a shotgun that they believe he might have stolen.
Police received several phone calls on Thursday morning from citizens reporting a suspicious male subject.
Callers reported a man riding his bicycle in the area of the Aquatic Center on Quartz Hill Road wearing a bandana over his face. The man was yelling obscenities at people in the area and threatening to physically assault them. One of the reporting parties said the man had a firearm.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found local transient, William Rudy Glore, 31, and detained him. During the investigation, officers located a loaded shotgun concealed in the nearby vegetation. Glore admitted to hiding it after seeing officers in the area.
Police said that there is reason to believe the shotgun may be stolen.
Glore was arrested for several weapons violations and booked into the Shasta County Jail.
