Residential burglaries on the rise in Anderson

ANDERSON, Calif. -

Anderson police are asking the community to keep an eye out after a spike in residential burglaries. Monday alone they responded to three in the same general area.

The three burglaries happened during daylight. Two of them on the 2200 block of
Knobcone Avenue and another on the 1500 block of Hemlock Avenue.

In response , Anderson officers are making extra patrols.

"Recently we engaged in some undercover protective operations in that area,” said Anderson Police Officer Casey Day. “We are trying to conduct a lot of extra patrols up there. We're trying to contact people that are coming and going from the location whether by vehicle or on foot."

Police are also asking for the help from people who live in these areas.

They encourage everyone to lock their doors and windows and also their garage doors.
