Schools Take Extra Precautions During Homicide Suspect Manhunt
The hunt for suspect Shane Franklin Miller is leading schools take extra precautions to ensure the safety of students.
Redding Christian and Chrisalis Charter schools went on lockdown on Wednesday and will remain closed Thursday unless Shane Miller is captured.
School officials said the lockdowns were a precautionary measure.
Foothill High School had a soft lockdown as well. They said that meant they were not required or instructed to go into a lockdown but they wanted to make sure that their students remained as safe as possible.
Superintendent of the Black Butte Elementary School District Don Aust said the school is mourning the loss of their two beloved students, Shelby and Shasta Miller.
Aust said the two girls had been out of school for a while and did not know if they were being home schooled.
