The search continues for an 81-year-old man who was last seen at his Oroville home Saturday.
Investigators said John Chesley wandered off and never came back.
John Chesley's family and Butte County rescuers have been putting out flyers all over Oroville, trying to figure out where he could possibly be.
“It's just really hard right now,” said Chesley’s stepson, Scott Leyman.
"I'm not holding out much hope on this,” said John’s wife, Marcie Chesley. “I don't know. I would give anything to know where he is. I couldn't tell you what time he left. I just don't know I was making cookies.”
Marcie Chesley said John was out doing yard work while she was inside.
The family said John has been starting to suffer from dementia.
“We knew things weren't quite right but we over looked it,” said Chesley.
“It was getting progressively worse when he would ask the same question over and over again,” said his stepson.
John Chesley was last seen at his Peak View Drive home in Oroville.
Rescuers have been working around the clock searching in the sky and on the ground.
Butte County rescuers brought in the Tehama and Nevada County search and rescue teams to help look Chesley bringing the total to nearly 25 rescuers looking for him.
“Hopefully he's walking somewhere and not something bad happened to him,” said Leyman.
The Butte County Sheriff's Office said that no foul play was involved.
Chesley is described as a white man standing five foot eight inches, weighing 140 pounds with brown eyes and short gray hair.
He was last seen in a blue flannel shirt, jeans and white shoes
