RED BLUFF, Calif. -

Deputies in Tehama County are looking for two vehicles involved in a shooting Monday night near Red Bluff.

Witnesses called 911 around 9:45 p.m. to report people in two vehicles exchanging gunfire at Walnut Street and Wilder Road.  The location is just outside the western edge of the Red Bluff city limits.

The vehicles involved were described as a small white pickup and a sedan.

Deputies responded and in the road they found broken glass from a car window, and shell casings from two firearms.

They searched the area but couldn't find the vehicles or the people involved.

On Tuesday bullet holes were seen in one home and broken glass from the vehicles was littered Walnut Street.

Several neighbors in the area said it was a scary situation and fear it could be gang related.

Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston said his office searched the area thoroughly but found very little evidence.

"We believe that it's isolated to the two vehicles that were involved on the roadway not to any of the vehicles in the area," explained Johnston.

If you have information on the shooting, call the Tehama County Sheriff's Office at (530) 529-7900.
