It appears that veteran free-agent quarterback Michael Vick will visit the New York Jets this weekend.

According to reports, the Jets are interested in Vick after failing to land free-agent quarterback Josh McCown, who signed a two-year contract last week with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Jets could be interested in the bringing in a veteran to pair with second-year quarterback Geno Smith. Former starter Mark Sanchez remains on the Jets' roster, but he could be released before a March 25 deadline when a $2 million roster bonus kicks in.

So far, the Jets has been relatively quiet in the free-agent market this month. Their biggest signing to date is former Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker.

There are also indications that Vick might be ready to sign with a team rather than wait until after the NFL Draft in May.

With several quarterbacks signing during the past week, Vick's options could be more limited. He has expressed a desire to be a starter and not a backup, which would be the case if he remains with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Teams with needs at quarterback include the Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns. But each of those franchises could draft a quarterback with their first pick. The Tennessee Titans, with starter Jack Locker recovering from surgery, are mentioned as another option.
