Stuff the Bus Toy Drive Benefits Northstate Community
KRCR News Channel 7, Northern California Ford Dealers and the Salvation Army have teamed up with the Northstate community for the annual Stuff the Bus toy drive. Stuff the Bus brings together community leaders in an effort to gather as many toys as possible for children in need in the Northstate.
On Friday, Dec. 6 KRCR News Channel 7, Northern California Ford Dealers, and the Salvation Army will be stuffing two city buses, a RABA bus in Redding and a B-Line bus in Chico, with new, unwrapped toys.
In Redding, Stuff the Bus will be held at Crown Motors from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. In Chico, the event will be at Wittmeier Auto Center from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can stop by either of these locations throughout the day, and can also visit Benny Brown’s Ford in Corning and Oroville to donate toys.
KRCR News Channel 7 will be airing live from the event in Chico, Redding and Corning. KSHASTA radio will also be live at Crown Motors in Redding, and The WOLF radio will be at Wittmeier Auto Center in Chico.
In November, the Salvation Army delivered holiday-themed barrels to various businesses and organizations throughout the Northstate who volunteered to be toy drop-off locations. For the past three weeks, community members have been stopping by collection sites and donating toys. The Salvation Army anticipates that hundreds of toys will be collected from Stuff the Bus and the event has become an integral part of their holiday operation.
”Through the generosity we see at Stuff the Bus, we are able to help provide toys to more than 1200 children in Shasta County and Butte County,” said Audra Whipple, a Redding Salvation Army officer.
Stuff the Bus donations will be accepted until Dec. 13 at the Northstate Ford locations. Help make the holidays special for a child in need and donate a toy.
