JONES VALLEY, Calif. -

A Jones Valley man has been arrested for a shooting that brought out the SWAT team and several Shasta County sheriff's deputies.

Gregory Hackstaff, 43, was arrested Monday on charges of shooting into an inhabited dwelling and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

The incident started just after 5 a.m. Monday.  A deputy responded to East Valley Trail in Jones Valley to investigate a shot fired into a residence.

While the deputy responded, another shot was fired, just missing the deputy.

Deputies and the SWAT team swarmed the area.  Hackstaff was questioned and later arrested.  No one was injured.

Hackstaff is held on $500,000 bail.
