OROVILLE, Calif. -

A 33-year-old Oroville woman's life-threatening head injuries led to a police investigation on Monday.

Oroville police were called by Oroville Medical Center at around 2:20 a.m. on Monday to investigate suspicious injuries on a 33-year-old woman who was brought to the hospital's emergency room by ambulance.

Officers found that the woman, whose identity has not been released, was transported from her residence in the 2100-block of Spencer Ave. in Oroville. She suffered severe head trauma and was air lifted to Sacramento for treatment.

A suspect has been identified and located for questioning.
