ANDERSON, Calif. -

A Shingletown teenager was arrested after an overnight chase through Anderson in a stolen car.

Police used patrol cars and helicopter and a K-9 to take him into custody.

Officers arrested 18-year-old Royce Harrison after crashing a stolen car on Kimberly Road.

It started around 1 a.m. Friday when Anderson Police officers saw a black Dodge sedan at a gas station.  The investigation revealed the vehicle had false tabs and a license plate registered to a Kia.  Officers tried to make a traffic stop, but the vehicle drove off southbound on Interstate 5.

The car exited at Deschutes Road, then continued southbound on Locust Road.  The car failed to negotiate a left turn on Kimberly Road and drove off a six foot embankment.

Police said Harris tried to run from the crashed vehicle.  A CHP helicopter crew located Harrison a few hundred yards south of the vehicle but police said he refused to give up.   A police K-9  was deployed and subdued him, allowing officers to make the arrest.

Harrison was booked into jail for vehicle theft, felony evading and hit and run.

Two other people in the car were questioned and released.
