ANDERSON, Calif. -

Three people were arrested after a high speed chase from Anderson to Redding late Monday night.

Anderson Police said it started just after 10 p.m. when an officer spotted a stolen vehicle on Factory Outlets Drive.  When they tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver sped off northbound on Interstate 5.

Police said the driver then turned around and headed into oncoming traffic on Interstate 5 toward Knighton Road.

The chase continued until the car stopped near Epperson's Auction Yard on Fig Tree Lane in South Redding off Airport Road.

Three people ran from the car.  The CHP helicopter and the Redding Police K-9 were used in the search.

Police said they found one passenger Haley Johnson, 21, hiding near the car.  A second passenger Zachary Mason, 27, was found hiding under the porch of a nearby home.

The driver of the car Justin Bay, 23, was found in a field hiding in a heavily vegetated area near a small creek.  He reportedly resisted arrest and was bit by the K-9.  He was arrested on warrants and for possession of stolen property.

All three were booked into Shasta County Jail.  Johnson was booked for obstructing, delaying or resisting a peace officer.  Mason was arrested on outstanding felony warrants.
