Oroville Police made an arrest Sunday in connection with a triple stabbing at a Friday night party. Three teenagers, ages 16, 17 and 17 were injured in stabbings.
Officers spent Saturday interviewing additional witnesses to the stabbing and re-interviewing two of the stabbing victims.
Police said the suspect responsible for the stabbings was identified as 20-year-old Oroville resident Dillon D. Fite.
On Sunday approximately 10:30 a.m. Fite was located and arrested at the Lake Oroville Bidwell Marina.
Fite was interviewed at OPD and later booked into Butte County Jail on three separate counts of assault with a deadly weapon (knife), one count for each victim.
Two of the juvenile male victims remain hospitalized at Enloe Medical Center, one in the ICU Department.
At this point in the investigation Officers confirmed the juvenile house party was underway and Fite arrived shortly before the stabbing.
An altercation occurred between Fite, the victims and other unidentified involved parties which started in the front yard of the residence and continued westbound High Street in the roadway area for approximately half a block.
During this time Fite was identified as being the responsible suspect who stabbed the three victims. Crime scene evidence and additional statements were obtained to corroborate the information received which ultimately led to Fite’s arrest.
The investigation is on-going and the Oroville Police Department is still seeking information from any potential neighborhood witnesses or people who attended the party.
During the investigation officers learned a large group of juveniles were consuming alcohol
Officers interviewed and arrested the renter of the home, Heather McDonald-Williams, 22, who resides at the location with a juvenile family member. McDonald-Williams arrived home at approximately 10 p.m. and was aware several teenagers were intoxicated and consuming alcohol to the point where a 17 year old female had to be hospitalized for overconsumption of alcohol.
McDonald-Williams was arrested and booked into Butte County Jail on a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the deliquency of a minor.
Intoxication, underage drinking and lack of parental supervision all appear to be factors in this incident. Anyone with suspect information or who may have witnessed the assault is urged to contact the Oroville Police Department.
