LIVE OAK, Calif. -

Highway 99 will be closed in Sutter County due to roadwork at a railroad crossing.  Union Pacific Railroad will close Highway 99 at Lomo Railroad crossing, south of Live Oak for track work.

The closure will start at 5 a.m. Monday and continue through Wednesday.

Caltrans has established detour routes in which northbound motorists can expect 10 to 15 minute delays, while southbound travelers can expect delays of up to 20 minutes.

Big rigs will be turned around at Highway 99 and Lomo, and directed to alternative routes such as Highway 70.

During the closure, big rig traffic in the areas of Live Oak, southern Gridley (south of East Gridley Avenue) and northern Yuba City (north of the Highway 99/Highway 20 junction) will be restricted to local deliveries and cargo pick-up only.

Union Pacific's plan to replace a 200-foot stretch of track and railroad ties across Highway 99 at the Lomo Railroad Crossing.

Caltrans plans message boards along Highway 99 in Sutter and Butte counties to remind travelers.

The northbound detour is Encinal Road to Williston Road to Clark Road. The southbound detour is Clark Road to Madden Avenue to Encinal.
