UPDATE: Trinity Pines deadly shooting victim identified by Sheriff's Office

ANDERSON, Calif. -

Deputies have arrested a Trinity County man for murder after a deadly shooting Tuesday night.

James Cummings, 44 of Trinity Pines, was booked into the Trinity County Jail.

The victim has been identified by the Trinity County Sheriff's Office as 50-year-old Martin Paul McKown from Trinity Pines.

The shooting happened around 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.  The Trinity County Sheriff's Office received a call of shots being fired in the area of White Oak Drive in Trinity Pines.

When officers arrived on the scene they found a gunshot victim dead.  Cummings was arrested and booked into the Trinity County Jail.

The victim's name will not be released until the family has
been notified.

Investigators remained on scene all night.  No information was released about a possible motive.  The sheriff's office said updates would be available later Wednesday afternoon.
