A Butte County woman was shot and killed Monday, and her 12- year old daughter and the girl's father were also shot.
A man has been arrested and we are told he's a relative.
Dulce White and her brother Matthew expressed how devastated they are that this happened to their neighbors.
“It scared me,” said Matthew White. “I jumped right out of bed looking around the house. Then I came to my front room window and the cops surrounded the house."
“All I heard was the sirens that came down and I ran down here and asked for Chloe. That's all I wanted to find out if she was ok.” said Dulce White.
Dulce is close friends with 12-year-old Chloe McClintock- one of the three people who was shot.
“She came out of the house on the gurney. All I could look at was her body and the blood on her and the tears coming out of her eyes,” said Dulce White.
Investigators say Chloe, her mother, and her father were all shot inside their Paradise home off Horseshoe Hill Drive early Monday morning. Chloe’s mother, 53-year-old Nancy Taylor, was killed. Her dad, 49-year-old Rodney McClintock, was wounded. Both Rodney and Chloe were taken to the hospital.
Police say 63-year-old Robert McClintock was the person responsible for this. Matthew White says that's Rodney’s brother.
“You know how could someone you love shoot somebody, especially a 12-year-old girl. You know, that's devastating,” said Matthew White.
“I just cried right on top of her and gave her a big hug and then they had to take her,” said Dulce White of her friend Chloe.
She says she was hanging out with Chloe Sunday night at her home- dancing, skateboarding and making plans to ride quads in the morning.
“She was supposed to let me know this morning before everything happened,” said Dulce White.
The Whites say- this hits way too close to home.
“When you known them and grew up with them then it's devastating,” said Matthew White.
Rodney is in critical condition after having surgery. Chloe - is in stable condition. She also underwent surgery today.
As for Robert McClintock- he's being charged with murder and attempted murder and the district attorney’s office says he'll be arraigned no later than Thursday afternoon.
