Two teenagers were arrested for a burglary at an Oroville shoe store early Saturday.
Oroville Police said the call came in around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Officers were dispatched to Nelson’s Footwear at 1949 Montgomery Street for a security alarm activation.
They found the rear door of the business had been forced open and subjects had entered the business. Investigators found physical evidence to identify the burglary suspects.
Then at 3:34 a.m. the owner reported suspicious subjects near the store. Officers located the two teenagers at Hewitt Park.
Officers searched the subjects, Eric Izia Becerril, 18, of Oroville, and a 17-year-old boy also from Oroville. Officers located stolen property from Nelson’s Footwear.
Becerril and the juvenile were taken into custody and police said the suspects admitted their involvement. Officers later determined the two were also involved in a vehicle burglary in the downtown area.
Becerril was booked into the Butte County Jail for burglary, possession of stolen property, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and participating in a criminal street gang. The 17-year-old was booked into the Butte County juvenile hall for the same violations.
