Several graves were vandalized over the weekend at the Redding Cemetery.
No headstones were destroyed, but statues were moved and mementos were stolen and moved around the cemetery.
Mourners likened the disturbance to a home invasion.
This isn’t the first time this year this has happened. Both family members and cemetery officials say they have already had at least two incidents of vandalism this year.
Family members are asking for the cemetery to provide better security to protect the graves of their loved ones.
Alex Farnstrom said if there were any suggestions for improved security measures he would consider all of them, even saying that they’re considering putting cameras to monitor the grounds.
But until that happens, mourners have to hope that the people of Redding will respect their privacy and leave their loved ones in their final resting place.
