The rare system that dropped record amounts of rainfall is weakening and moving east today. With more sunshine today parts of the valley floor will warm to the mid 90s.
Looking at recent satellite images, there is a noticeable amount of smoke and haze in all of the Northstate today. The low level moisture has help to lock the haze in place. Cloud coverage will continue to thin and move east, southeast today, allowing for a warm up.
Valley highs will hover near normal the next few days as we head into the weekend.
The next big forecasting challenge will be a cut-off low this weekend into next workweek. With the low sitting and spinning offshore to our southeast and monsoon moisture overhead, we'll likely see mountain thunderstorm chances increasing bu Sunday afternoon.
