Weather Forecast: Cooling Trend This Weekend
Updated On: May 17 2014 12:16:32 AM CDT
The cooling trend that started on Friday will continue into the weekend only topping out in the mid 80s on Saturday and upper 70s on Sunday. The reason for the cooler weather is all thanks to an area of low pressure over the Eastern Pacific breaking away at the ridge. The low will eventually move through the Northstate and give us a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms on Sunday and Monday in the valley and mountains.
The storm will be to our east by Tuesday giving the Sierra a continued chance for isolated thunderstorms but the rest of us should be dry with gusty north winds unfortunately drying things out and increasing the fire danger. We should return to the mid 80s by the middle of next week as high pressure starts to rebuild.
