North and northwest winds will continue today for the valley and foothills. Valley highs will also warm to the low 70s, under sunny skies.
The surface pressure gradient has shifted from northwest to north this morning while also starting to relax. gradient has already weakened 3-4mb since this morning. However, Redding tends to see higher winds when oriented out of the north, therefore Redding gusts have been much higher than yesterday morning/afternoon.
High pressure will remain in control through the weekend with highs between 70-75 for the valley floor.
A weak system Thursday may increase the northerly winds again Thursday and Friday but should remain weaker than yesterday and today's event.
Models continue to hint towards a wet system by next Tuesday and Wednesday. As usual we'll keep an eye on it and update as we get closer.
