The heat has arrived and is expected to stick around through the week before we see cooler weather into the weekend. Redding broke their downtown record of 90 with a high of 91 while Chico tied theirs also at 91 degrees. High temperatures will continue to hover right around 90 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday and will most likely struggle to get out of the 80s by Friday.
The ridge of high pressure will start to break down through the weekend allowing our temperatures to drop back down to the low 80s by Saturday and low 70s on Sunday. We’ll keep it in the 70s through most of next week which is actually normal for this time of year. The next chance for rain is on Sunday and Monday but isn’t expected to amount to much if anything at all.
