Weather Forecast: More Rain On The Way
Updated On: Feb 11 2014 01:22:07 AM CST
We finally got a break from the fairly steady rain over the last three days with about 2 to 4 inches in the valley and much higher amounts for some of the mountain locations. We’ll probably notice an increase in cloud cover on Tuesday as another atmospheric river (Pineapple Express) sets up once again. The difference between this one and the one over the last three days is the fact that it looks like high pressure is pushing the bulk of the rain to our north.
The northern end of the Sacramento valley will have the best chance for measurable rainfall but as you head to the south the chances diminish. Places like Chico and even Red Bluff will have a difficult time getting any rain at least through Friday. As the jet stream shifts to the south and sweeps through the Northstate, everyone will have a decent chance for rain. Bottom line, don’t count on getting the steady rain we’ve had the last few days. Snow levels are expected to remain high and should be above 7000 feet.
The long range models are still hinting at several storms hitting the Northstate through the end of the month. Keep your fingers crossed.
