Weather Forecast: Summer Heat Continues Through Next Week
Updated On: Jul 03 2014 11:19:00 AM CDT
Valley afternoon highs will once again warm to or above 100 degrees for parts of the Northstate today. Another heat wave will begin to build in by Sunday.
Highs will reamin in the upper 90s to low 100s through Saturday afternoon for the valley floor.
The mountains to the north and northeast, gusty southwest winds will pick up Friday, you can also expect dropping relative humidity values. That is why the NWS has issued a FIRE WEATHER WATCH for parts of Siskiyou and Modoc County tomorrow.
Our next heat wave builds in Sunday into next Monday. Valley highs may approach 110 by Monday afternoon. We'll also need to keep an eye on the monsoon next week. With a southeasterly flow aloft, moisture from the desert southwest could move up the Sierra to the Northstate. This would increase humidity values and chances for mountain thunderstorms.
