The wet weather we saw on Friday will be nothing compared to what is in store for us on Saturday. Along with the heavy rain will be warmer air with snow levels most likely above 6000 feet at this point. Periods of heavy rain will continue through most of the day on Saturday. Although not as heavy, more rain is expected through the day on Sunday before we dry things out on Monday. Once all is said and done the valley could pick up between 2 and 4 inches of rain with higher amounts in the mountains, especially in the Sierra. 4 to 6 feet of snow is possible on some of the higher mountain peaks of the Sierra.
It looks like drier weather for the beginning of next week with the long range forecast models hinting at some more rain by Wednesday of next week.
