Weather Forecast: Unsettled Through Weekend
Updated On: Apr 24 2014 12:20:48 AM CDT
We’ll start Thursday out dry and much like Wednesday there will be another weak storm approaching from the coast giving Trinity County isolated showers. There will be a better chance for isolated showers in the valley Thursday afternoon into the evening hours but once again if we see anything it will be on the light side.
The main trough of low pressure with the cold and unstable air associated with it will move over us Thursday night into Friday. We’ll see our first push of light to moderate rain Late Thursday night into early Friday morning (shortly after midnight). The chances for rain and even thunderstorms will linger into Friday afternoon with small hail, gusty winds and periods of heavy rain being the biggest threats. At this point the forecast models want to dry things out in the valley between 5:00 and 6:00 in the evening on Friday. No guarantees but it’s a little hope for a dry Kool April Nites Cruise. Snow levels are expected to be between 4000 and 5000 feet.
The weekend will remain unsettled with partly to mostly cloudy skies but should remain fairly dry with the best chance for light showers/sprinkles on Sunday.
High pressure will return next week with temperatures back in the 80s by Tuesday and Wednesday.
