ANDERSON, Calif. -

A Redding man was arrested after police say they found him attacking a woman who tried to stop him from stealing from an Anderson Wal-Mart.

The officer spotted Brett Crosslin, 28, while patrolling the 5000-block of Rhonda Road at around 12 p.m. on Sunday. He appeared to be assaulting a woman in a parking lot.

The woman, a Walmart Asset Protection employee, told the officer she was trying to stop Crosslin after he stole items from the store.

The officer found about $300 worth of stolen items, including a handful of oral hygiene products and an air mattress.

The items were returned to Walmart and Crosslin was booked into the Shasta County Jail for robbery.
